Industrias Magromer Cueros y Pieles SA is a company with more than 93 years in the market. It produces and markets sustainable leathers and a wide range of semi-finished and finished products. The company has its own warehouses and sales showroom in Avellaneda. The industrial and general administration plant is located in the City of Mercedes (Buenos Aires) 100 kilometers from the Federal Capital, on one of the main entrances to the City. ORÍGENES

Among the numerous immigrants who arrived in the country at the beginning of the 20th century, a large number of technicians specialized in the treatment and production of skins arrived. Among them was Mr. Leon Grozovsky, born in Minsk, Belarus, a traditional fur-producing area. Being a man of advanced ideas, León Grozovsky began working in an industrial plant where he adapted his skills in handling different varieties of skins to those usual in his motherland. 

Despite the fact that there were already some establishments that sold hides and leather, industrialization was practically non-existent. In 1927, despite the world depression, Grozovsky decided to create his own company, which was later the origin of Industrias Magromer Cueros y Pieles SA. These days, the company has its third generation integrating the board, being one of the most prestigious in the sector, both nationally and internationally.

PROCESSES

Raw material origins: selection, control and classification

All the leathers processed by Magromer come from the refrigeration industry as a by-product of the food industry.

They are obtained after a rigorous selection.

The leathers of lambs and cowhides are selected from different Abattoirs in Argentine Patagonia, England and New Zealand.

The bovine hides come from Abattoirs located in the northern part of the country, since the most exotic bovines are found there, due to the diversity of colors they possess. Most of the raw hides are then classified by qualified personnel capable of selecting, identifying and inspecting hundreds of different types of hides according to their quality, size and color. It is at this stage where it is determined what final destination they will have. This strict control and classification guarantees the high final quality of Magromer's products.

Tanned and dyed

The tanning and dyeing plant is located in Mercedes, an area well known for the superior quality of its water, a necessity for the best quality of finish. The modern machinery of the tannery comes mainly from Germany, Spain, France and Italy, along with some designed by local industries. The various processes to which raw hides are subjected are carried out by specialized Argentine operators, supervised by technicians with extensive experience and knowledge of each of the processes. In addition to being carried out under strict quality control that ensures solid results.

Product manufacturing
